Bible Journaling Lesson: The Manger

Writer's picture: Michelle WarrenMichelle Warren

We have been told the Christmas story - The Birth of Jesus - a thousand times, but have you ever paused to think about the details of HOW Jesus entered the world? The manger scene wasn't an accident, it was God's PLAN for Jesus to be born in the lower floor of a peasant house, where the animals were kept. You can be confident that God was in control of every detail of Jesus’ birth — including where He would be born, and to whom. And you also can be confident that it was God’s will for His Son to be born in a stable instead of a palace because God wanted to show us that Jesus Christ came to bring salvation to everyone — not just the rich and powerful, but the poor and needy. God’s love extends to EVERYONE. This is just one of the many signs of HOW Jesus shared in our poverty. The Bible says, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty we might become rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9).

I challenge you, as you look at the birth of Jesus to look at the details. Take it in in a new way and then RESPOND!

I hope that you have enjoyed the FREE BIBLE JOURNALING LESSON on THE MANGER!
